Tonight was funny. Hilarious, actually. But I guess I'll talk about my whole Saturday too.
I ate lunch then went to Plaza Fiesta to cut my hair. I was taking video the whole while for Emma and our video-correspondence-blogs. It is weird talking to a camera in public. So anyway, my hair is cut short now. It's really cute and feels so familiar. I've probably had this cut before...
I returned home after being lost in el Centro for 20 minutes. I watched the final quarter and a half of the Super Bowl. What a game! The lead changed at least twice. Damn. Then I got ready for going out to Ky60, a club in el Centro. (Nobody knows how to pronounce it, don't worry.) I waited for the camión for like 40 minutes, after which my mom decided to drive me. She didn't want me taking the bus this late on a Sunday anyway. The bus would drop me off a ways away from the Catedral where everyone was waiting for me. On Sundays, the whole place is deserted. So she was scared for me and just dropped me off. It's nice to know that she looks out for me and takes care of me like that. Mommy should be content. :)
Shumy, Saidi, Hector, Kate, and Chelsea and I went to the place, which was a "disco bar". The place was small and there weren't too many people there. The ones who were were mad old. But it only cost 20 pesos! Yea Sundays!! There were a bunch of black guys who looked like they were on a traveling basketball team there. (Yay blatant racism!) After they left, we felt a little purposeless...
We sat down and got some drinks (yay Coca-Cola!). This guy whose name I don't even know sat down at our table and just started talking to us. He kept calling Hector compadre, sucking up to the boy so he could gain access to the ladies. He was VERY good-looking, but I didn't want to deal with this nonsense tonight. Eventually, we all made our way to the dance floor. Mmm reggaeton. I was across from the guy, trying to keep the distance. He grabbed my hand to dance with him but I pulled away. Ehhh I don't want to deal with this shit.
Soon, however, I gave in and danced with him. I friggin love dancing. The guy was a good dancer and I was having fun. But, just like now, my mind often reverted to Ezer. I wished he could be the one dancing with me instead of this random guy. Soon, I could tell he wanted some. Of course. There's only one reason a guy will ask you to dance. They want to sleep with you. A good thing was he kept his hands to himself. But he began to sing the songs into my ear and do strange things to me. I told him he was a bad singer and he thought it was funny. I was serious, like stop fucking singing to me. And he would do that thing to my nose that you do to little kids, like "gotchyour nose" sort of thing. I told him it was weird but he laughed it off and kept doing it. I did NOT want to kiss this fool. That was sure. Why would I bother with this clown? My friends were watching out for me, grabbing me from time to time to dance with them. I didn't mind dancing with this guy; he was nice enough. But in the end, it was good they were watching my back.
The time came to leave. They were playing slow songs and he was getting more in my face. "No quiero irme" he said, thinking it was sweet and that I would swoon and finally give in and kiss him. He asked me if I wanted to see a movie sometime. Rudo y Cursi? No, I've already seen it...With my boyfriend. Oh? You have a novio? Yes. (This was a lie.) He expressed his disappointment in this. He said I have a nice smile. Bad news.
We stopped dancing, omg then he pulled out his final, most desperate moves. "Él es tu novio, pero eres mi esposa," he said (hahaha, translate that shit yourself!!). I laughed at the ridiculousness of this line, but it probably gave him false hope. He was very persistent. He wanted my number. "So we could see a movie, grab a coffee. As friends." Mmm sure! He needed my number. He needed me not to leave. He wasn't sketchy per se, but I didn't trust that shit for a second. I tried to make it easier for him. Funniest line I said: "Si está en las estrellas, vamos a vernos otra vez" ("If it's in the stars, we will see each other again"). I'm not sure if that makes sense...
Finally, it was time. We'd had enough. Amanda grabbed me and pulled me away. We ran for the door. It was the wrong exit. We scurried over to the other one. He was following us, saying "por favor". I felt really bad. Once outside, we literally ran away. Hahaha, Hector was pulling my arm and running in the mad escape. I almost lost my shoe. Mandy called me Cinderella. Apparently, he followed us outside, because they were checking to make sure he was gone.
HILARIOUS.
Oh well. I had a nice night overall. And a grand day. :)
